Tamra Jean Malmen

Tamra Jean Malmen “Tami” age 57, passed away peacefully with Hospice Care on November 29, 2020 at Havens House, a special home that cares for adults with developmental disabilities in Silvis IL.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Sadly, due to the pandemic restrictions, a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Tami was born May 24, 1963, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Gerald and Evelyn (Lieving) Malmen. Having Downs Syndrome never slowed Tami down. Her greatest joys were playing with her baby dolls, stringing beads, drawing & coloring, going to church, music, dancing, Mickey Mouse, taco pizza, ice cream and Dick Nelson.

The family would like to express gratitude to the caring staff at Havens House for their love and support. Also, to the Genesis Hospice team assigned to care for Tami. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Tamra’s name to Genesis Hospice, 2546 Tech Drive, Bettendorf, IA 52722. They have been a tremendous comfort in many ways to Tami and our family.

Those left to honor her memory include her father, Gerald Malmen, Orion, IL, sisters, Debra (John) Solomonson, Orion, IL, Vicki (Chris) Dufour, Golden, CO, Carol (Doug) Ragan, Mercer, MO, Kimberly (Daniel) Snow, Guadalupita, NM, brother, Thomas (Teri) Malmen, Lynn Center, IL and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her Mother, Evelyn Malmen and great nephew Gazorillo Ragan.
