Ted P. Blaser, Sr.

Ted P. Blaser, Sr., 90, of Moline, passed away Saturday July 6, 2024, at his home.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday July 12, 2024, at Homewood Evangelical Free Church, Moline. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday July 11, 2024, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted. Memorials may be made to Homewood Evangelical Free Church.

Ted was born on August 15, 1933, in Moline, the son of Theodore and Ruth (Phillips) Blaser. He attended Augustana College and was a U.S. veteran, having served in the Army. Ted married Megan Delores Day on July 18, 1953, in Moline. She preceded him in death on May 16, 2012. He ran the Ted Blaser Insurance Agency from 1956-2003. Anyone that knew Ted remembers him as a true outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He also enjoyed all board and card games. Ted was a member of Homewood Evangelical Free Church and Gideons International. He was also past president of the Moline Breakfast Optimist Club.

Survivors include his sons, Steve Blaser, Moline, Ted (Diane) Blaser, Jr., Moline; daughter-in-law, Amy Blaser, Geneseo; special friend, Shirley Kelley, Moline; sister, Marilyn Oaks, Sherman, IL; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Megan; sons, Scott and David; sister, Janet Bolm.
