Thomas R. McDonnell, 60, of Lynn Center, IL, died Sunday, January 27, 2013, at Trinity Moline.
Private family funeral services will be held at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the family.
Thomas was born on June 25, 1952, in Clinton, IA, the son of Robert Leo and Violet May (Malone) McDonnell. He married Peggy Gauley on May 16, 1981, at St. Patrick's Church in Andalusia, IL. He began working for International Harvester in East Moline in 1972 and retired from the same location through Case New Holland in 2004. Tom cherished his family and lifelong friends. He was a person who could talk to anybody and was known for his playful wit and life stories. He enjoyed grilling and all things concerning cars. His hope and resolve in each challenge he faced was an inspiration to his family and those close to him.
