Thomas J. Pappas

Thomas J. Pappas, 72, of Moline, passed away on June 16, 2026, at UnityPoint Health Trinity Rock Island.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday June 26, 2026, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, Moline.

Thomas was born on December 24, 1953, in Moline, the son of John and Nola Lee (Overturf) Pappas. He worked for both the Rock Island and Moline Parks and Recreation Departments. He was an active member of the Central Baptist Church, where he served as head usher for many years, distributed church pamphlets, and sang solos and in quartets. He was also active with Reformers Unanimous “RU” at the church for 5 years.

Thomas was a man of great faith and died reading his bible. He will be greatly missed by his family and church family.

Survivors include his brother, Jeff (Diane) Pappas of Davenport; sister, Christine Secymore of East Moline; son, Thomas Andrews of Moline; twin grandsons, Lennon and Landon; 2 nieces, 2 nephews and 4 cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Pappas and sister, Patricia Hall.
