Verna Hall, 91, of Moline, formerly of Rhode Island, died March 5, 2009 at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 8, 2009 at 3 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Saturday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be in Little Neck Cemetery Riverside Rhode Island at a later date. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline, American Cancer Society or Disabled American Veterans.
Verna was born September 10, 1917 in Nasonville, Rhode Island to Wilson and Etta (Walling) Pickering. She married Albert Hall in East Providence, Rhode Island in 1940. He preceded her in death in 1988.
Verna was employed for 50 years as a nurse for numerous hospitals and nursing homes. She retired in 1987. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline. She enjoyed playing the organ, doing crossword puzzles and reading. After her retirement, she volunteered at Trinity Medical Center.
