Vernon "Junior" Cook

Vernon “Junior” Cook, 66, of East Moline, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018, in Galesburg, IL.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A graveside service with burial of cremains will take place on Saturday, June 16th, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Cooper Cemetery in Detroit, Alabama.  Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family.

Vernon was born on February 11, 1952 in Moline, the son of Wiley and Alice Carter Cook.  Vernon worked as an over-the-road truck driver.

Survivors include his sister, June (Tom) Minard, East Moline; brother, James D. Cook, North Carolina; mother, Alice Cook, Moline; 2 nephews, Jason (Morgan) Minard and Jeremy (Ashley) Minard; 2 great nieces; and 2 great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wiley Cook.
