Vincent Bozzer, 94, of Colona, passed away, Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at his residence.

Public visitation will be from Noon – 2 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2021, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Private family funeral services will be held, and military honors will be conducted.  A livestream of the funeral can be found on Vincent’s obituary page at esterdahl.com at 11 a.m. on Saturday.  Private burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to the Arbor Day Foundation.  In accordance with restrictions, attendees are expected to wear a face mask and observe social distancing.

Vincent was born on March 15, 1926, in Detroit, MI, the son of George and Mary Catherine (Hentschel) Bozzer.  He earned his master’s degree from the Florida Institute of Technology and was a proud graduate of University of Michigan.   He was a WWII and Korean War veteran serving with the Army Air Force.  He married Marianne Vilt on January 23, 1954, in Coal City, IL.  She preceded him on August 12, 2016.  He worked at the Rock Island Arsenal for 44 years, retiring January 2, 1988.  Vincent was an avid bowler, bird watcher and arborist.  He enjoyed woodworking, being in nature and being a boy scout leader with his children when they were younger.

Survivors include his children, Erich (Suzie) Bozzer, Detroit, MI, Lad (Brenda) Bozzer, Geneseo, Therese (Bill) Mueller, Colona; grandchildren, Emily, Brian, Alex, Henry, Madeline, Sam, Elizabeth.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
