Violet Marie Nelson, 96, of Rock Island, died Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Friendship Manor Silver Cross in Rock Island, Illinois.
A graveside committal service will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline.
Memorials may be made to the First Evangelical Free Church in Moline, Illinois or to a charity of your choice.
Violet was born October 23, 1919 in Moline to William and Maria (Carlswad) Helstrom. She married Dr. Kurt Nelson in Moline on November 19, 1988. She was an employee of Royal Neighbors of America in Rock Island for 33 years, retiring as assistant purchasing agent in 1981, and was a lifelong member of the First Evangelical Free Church in Moline.
Surviving are her husband, Kurt, and sister Ruth in Moline, and Virginia in Vermont. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Walter, Walfrid and Carl, and sisters, Wilma Anderson and June Scent.
