Violet M. Weatherly, 85, of Moline, IL, died Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, February 23, 2015, at Edgewood Baptist Church, 2704 38th Street, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, February 22, 2015, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Edgewood Baptist Church or to Susan G. Koman.
Violet was born on February 2, 1930, in Norton, VA, the daughter of Charlie and Eunice Burchett Miller. She married Robert L. Weatherly on September 22, 1949, in Clinchport, VA, and he preceded her in death in October of 1999.
Violet was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church in Rock Island. She had a talent for crocheting beautiful pieces that she shared with family and friends. She enjoyed soft music, birds, and flowers. More than anything, Violet loved her children, grandchildren, and family get togethers. Babies made her smile.
