Virgil "Bob" L. Eubanks, 78, of Port Byron, IL, died Thursday, February 11, 2016, at home.
Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Virgil was born on October 15, 1937, in Marshalltown, IA, the son of Glen and Lucille Eubanks. He was a veteran, having proudly served in the United States Navy. He married Betty Ann and later married Ann Margaret Beeson on December 5, 1991, in Texas. He worked as a fork lift operator for General Motors for 30 years, retiring on July 6, 1990.
Virgil enjoyed traveling and digging for gold. He loved to watch NASCAR, motor cross racing, and boxing. Virgil especially loved old country music and spending his time with his family and dog, Baxter.
Survivors include his loving wife, Ann; children, Dale (Paula) Eubanks, WI, and Cynthia Eubanks, OK; 5 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; siblings, Pat, Dean, Willey, and Ivy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Vicky; and 3 siblings.
