Vivian E. Olson, 89, of Moline, IL, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to First Evangelical Free Church or to Christian Friendliness.
Vivian was born on June 15, 1925, on a farm in Alpha, IL, the daughter of J. August and Ellen Nelson. She married Francis E. Olson on May 22, 1948, in Moline, IL, he preceded her in death in September of 2011.
Vivian worked in specifications, first at the John Deere Plow Works and later at the War Assembly Plant in Moline. She returned to Deere and married and raised her family. Later she worked as a medical assistant and office receptionist for Drs. Paul Youngberg, Stiegel, and Dousemen.
Vivian was a lifetime member of First Evangelical Free Church in Moline and sang in the choir. She also sang with the Handel Oratorio Society. Vivian also enjoyed gardening.

Great-grandchildren Elizabeth Olson, David Olson, Vivian Whitaker, and Nathan Noetzel
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Rebecca Noetzel; and three sisters, Marian House, Martha Kantorik, and Doris Groenewold.
