Walter J. Boll

Walter J. Boll, 90, of Moline, passed away January 30, 2026, at Silver Cross Nursing at Friendship Manor in Rock Island.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time. Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery at a later date.

Walt was born on October 6, 1935, in Fort Madison Iowa, the son of Fredrick F. and Edna L. (Bailey) Boll. He married Katherine Elizabeth Olson on September 14, 1957, in Moline. She preceded him in death on March 5, 1982.

Walt served in the U.S. Navy Reserve. He began his employment at John Deere Harvester for eleven years then worked at Bob Neal Ford in Rock Island and later at Reynolds Ford in East Moline. He retired after 23 years in October of 1997 from South Park Lincoln Mercury as Service Manager. Walt enjoyed skeet shooting and won a skeet shooting championship in San Antonio. He was a member of the Bi State Sportsman’s Association in Colona and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline.

Survivors include his brother, Fred F. Boll, Jr.; sister, Mary Lundy; special friend, Madalene Masem; nieces, Barb Long, Lori Langel; nephew, Greg Lundy; special daughter, Tina (Dave) Thomas and Julie (Chad) Elliott; special grandchildren, Ava Thomas and Cooper Thomas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son Thomas.
