Walter Green, 71, of Colona, IL, died Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2017, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens.
Walter was born on September 25, 1945, in Sulligent, AL, the son of Jess W. and Katie O. Jones Green. He married Rebecca A. May on September 28, 1963, in Vernon, AL. He worked in assembly for the former I.H. Farmall which is now Navistar, retiring in 1995. He also worked in transportation for the State of Illinois.
Walter was a member of Clement Masonic Lodge 680 in Colona and the Horse Shoe Club. He was the founder of Moline Indoor Bags. Walter was a fan of Alabama football and the St. Louis Cardinals. He enjoyed fishing, camping, golf, and any outdoor activities.
Survivors include his wife, Becky Green; children, Rhonda (Kelly) Dean, Houston, TX, Donnie (Shelley) Green, Geneseo, IL, and Kevin Green (Christina Ransburgh), West Jefferson, OH; 10 grandchildren; brother, Clarence (Ann) Green, Vina, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 10 brothers; 5 sisters.
