Walter "Wally" L. Ladewig

Walter “Wally” L. Ladewig, 79, of Orion, passed away on August 4, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.

The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday August 11, 2026, at the Augustana Lutheran Church in Andover. The visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at the church. The burial will be at the Andover Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family or Augustana Lutheran Church.

Wally was born on April 17, 1947, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Walter and Edith (Creighton) Ladewig. He married Diane Norberg on October 21, 2000, in Andover. Wally had worked as a bricklayer and mason for the International Union of Bricklayers. He also previously worked as a Keebler Cookie Driver. He loved cheering on the former Quad City Mallards and was a season ticket holder. Wally was an avid and talented bowler with a right-handed release, having scored 300 games numerous times. He was also a member of the Davenport Pro-Bowlers Hall of Fame.

Survivors include his wife, Diane; children, Lisa (Tom) Ladewig-Kay, Matthew (Jen) Matykiewicz; grandchildren, Christopher Schmidt, Austin Ladewig, Dalton Kay, Owen (Ethan) Kay, Quinn Sunderbruch, Morgan Ganzer, Willow Matykiewicz; great grandchildren, Iliana and Augusto; mother-in-law, Dorothy Norberg (mom); brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Dave and Tammy Norberg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Kim, father-in-law, Don Norberg, and sister, Lorraine Glazebrook.
