Wanda L. Mitchell, 90, of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd, 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens at a later date. Memorials may be made to Christian Friendliness.
Wanda was born on June 12, 1925, in Bushnell, IL, the daughter of Herman A. and Ulva D. Haun Taylor. She married George M. Mitchell on March 2, 1946, in Galesburg, IL, and he preceded her in death on April 11, 2003.
Wanda was a member of First Baptist Church in Moline where she enjoyed teaching children in Sunday school. She also enjoyed crafts and traveling with her family. She especially loved spending time with her grandchild and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Sue (Mike) Clark, Coal Valley, IL, and Mara (Brian) Baer, Belvidere, IL; granddaughter, Marlee Schipper; great grandchildren, Malory and Matthew; sisters, Norma Murphy, TX, and Audrey (Don) Lavender, Galesburg, IL; brother, Ansel (Phyllis) Taylor, Beardstown, IL; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Keith; sister, Irene.
