Wayne L. Hamburg, 88, of Silvis, IL, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis, IL.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Following the visitation at the funeral home there will be a procession from the funeral home to the cemetery where military honors will be performed by Moline American Legion Post # 246. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Wayne was born on July 27, 1924, in Viola, IL, the son of Clair and Violet (Glancey) Hamburg. He married Donna Tornquist on January 4, 1946, in Bangor, ME. Wayne served in the United States Army and for 35 years, he worked for John Deere in the Parts Department. He enjoyed hunting deer and loved music and singing. He also loved to fly his ultra light plane. Wayne was a good man with strong values who was very patriotic. He was devoted to his wife and a great friend to his daughter.
