Wayne McCraw

Lester W. “Wayne” McCraw, 71, of Coal Valley, passed away Monday, February 18, 2019, at home.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, February 22, 2019, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., prior to the services at the funeral home.  Cremation will take place following services.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Wayne was born on July 23, 1947, in Sulligent, Alabama, the son of Bryce and Margie (Kitchens) McCraw.  He served in the National Guard.  He married Mary Evans on January 3, 1965, in Rock Island.  He later married Linda in Davenport.   Wayne later married Pam in Davenport and she preceded him in death on November 18, 2003.

Wayne retired after 34 years as a Teamster truck driver.  He was currently employed at the Moline Menards as a security guard for the past 17 years.

Survivors include his daughter, Melissa “Missy” M. (Zack Monroe) McCraw, Morton, IL; son, Gary (Debbie Mumma) McCraw, Port Byron; grandchildren, Brittani (Bennett) Underwood, Cambridge, Cody McCraw, Davenport, Hailey McCraw, Rock Island, Hanna McCraw, Rock Island, and Bryce McCraw, Rock Island; great grandchildren, Brynley, Kylin, and Jakai; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, Grace McCraw, Norma Boone, and Sue Bohannon, and 3 brothers, Junior, Jim and Billy.
