Wayne M. York, 58, of Moline, IL, died Wednesday, October 7, 2015, in Milan, IL.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life Service at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Len Brown's North Shore Inn, 700 North Shore Drive, Moline, IL. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to his daughter and grandchildren. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Wayne was born on March 12, 1957, in Moline, IL, the son of Martin "Sonny" and Janice Walker York. He married Shelley Davis in 1982 in Moline.
Wayne was a member of Wake Riders Water Ski Team in Geneseo and the Rock River Ski Team in Moline, where he was a slalom, jump, and trick champion for many years. He was a world rated jump skier.
Above all, Wayne was a dedicated and loving father and grandfather.
Survivors include his daughter, Shayla York; grandchildren, Tayvian York, Liyah York, and Devin Heck-York; brother, Wyatt (Julie) York; friends, Shelley and Terry Hanson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and Granny, Marie Walker.
