William D. (Bill) Brown, Jr., 77, of Moline, died Saturday, December 14, 2013, at home, of an apparent heart attack.
Services will be at noon, Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service begins. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, Illinois.
Bill was born January 14, 1936, in Huntsville, AL to William and Grace Brown. He moved to the Quad Cities with his family in 1950 and remained a lifelong resident. He married Sandra M. (Sandy) Richlen on November 9, 1963, and together they raised three beautiful daughters, who were the light of his life.
Bill retired from John Deere Harvester Works, after more than 30 years with the company. He became a leader in the local union and was very proud of his accomplishments in representing his fellow members. Upon his retirement, he and Sandy travelled across the US in their motor home, eventually establishing a winter home in Winter Haven, FL. He loved his family and especially cherished those occasions, which provided an opportunity to get all the brothers, sisters, grandkids, nieces, and nephews together for Frank's Pizza. He enjoyed fishing, travel, and equestrian sports and enthusiastically supported his beloved Chicago Bears.
