William F. Praught

William F. Praught, 79, of Coal Valley, passed away Friday, March 10, 2023, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday March 18, 2023, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Visitation will be one hour before services at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd.  Burial will be at Rose Lawn Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Bill was born on February 13, 1944, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the son of Joseph F. and Zelma M. (Cameron) Praught.  He was married to Patricia A. Adamson, they divorced, and he later married Myra J. Thomas Duran in March of 1973.

Bill served in the Royal Canadian Navy.  He was a Journeyman Electrician with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.  He loved playing darts and pool, bowling and softball and he loved a good beer.  Above all he loved spending time with his family and his dog Bandit.

Survivors include his children, Darrell (Belen) Praught, Alabama, Tammy Newman Cash, Coal Valley, Donald (Tracie) Praught, East Moline, Jeff (Mindy) Praught, Davenport, IA, Charles (Mandy) Praught, Indianapolis, IN, Suzanne (Troy) Tallman, DeWitt, IA, Shawn (Lily) Praught, Rock Island, Joseph (Melissa) Praught, Rising City, NE; many grandchildren and great grandchildren and a sister, Mary Janet Pruitt.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; sons, Kenny and Jake; grandson, Rusty; and sister, Beverly.
