William Allen Lynn, 90, of Moline, IL, formerly of New Windsor, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021, at his residence.
A public visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 am, Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Esterdahl Mortuary, 1301 4th St, Orion, IL. Private family funeral service will follow. Burial will be at Swedona Lutheran Cemetery, Lynn Center. Memorials may be made to Swedona Lutheran Church, Lynn Center. In accordance with restrictions, attendees are expected to wear a face mask and observe social distancing.
Allen was born on June 20, 1930, in Norwood, IL, the son of William Joseph and Florence (Brownlee) Lynn. He married Bessie L. Anderson on June 24, 1954, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion. Allen was a United States Marine serving during the Korean War. He was a former member of New Windsor American Legion and later a member of the Orion American Legion. Allen attended Swedona Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking and attending his grandchildren’s sports and activities.
Survivors include his wife, children, Kevin (Carol) Lynn, Galesburg, Gina (Steve) Geering, Blue Grass, IA, Lisa (Denis) Wehr, Moline; grandchildren, Heather, Lucas, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Grace, Carolyn; 3 step grandchildren, Joshua, Jason, and Alisha; 8 great grandchildren; 8 step great grandchildren; brother, John (Twila) Lynn, Moline; brother-in-law, Earl Hansen, Moline; sisters-in-law, Sheila (Jerry) Bryan, Sherrard, Dolly Anderson, New Windsor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Jane Bredberg, Mary Hansen, Colleen Hughes, & Peggy Thurman.
Memories may be shared on the tribute wall.
