Charles “Chuck” John Noecker, 83, of Davenport, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023, at his home.

Chuck was born on August 10, 1939, in Fordyce, Nebraska, the son of Earl and Catherine (Hegge) Noecker. He married Shirley Behrends on November 28, 1964, in Ballwin, Missouri. Chuck was a U.S. Veteran, having served in the Navy from 1957 to 1959. He attended  University of Nebraska and received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University and a Masters in Business from University of Wisconsin – Madison. He was employed as an engineer at John Deere, retiring from The Seeding Group after 36 years.

Growing up, Chuck was active in track and football - earning school records in both.  He also participated in choir and drama while in school.  While in college, he worked as a surveyor on I-80 for the state of Iowa. He enjoyed following many sports each season and also coached youth football in Orion while his children were young.  Chuck could often be found sitting in the stands as he loved attending his kids’ and grandkids’ sporting events.  Chuck was known for his great sense of humor.  He kept his family laughing with his one-liners and “Dad-isms”.  The grandkids never knew if he was serious or not. Chuck also had a passion for traveling – hitting the road to anywhere in the family motor home.

On Chuck’s behalf, the family would like to extend special thanks to his physical therapist, Greg Blaski, for over 20 years of friendship and amazing care.  Also, a thank you to the staff of Unity Point Hospice for their support and kindness.
