Diana J (Sels) Soots

Diana J. Soots, 72, of East Moline, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at her residence.

Cremation rites will be accorded.  Visitation will be from 10-Noon on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Memorial Service will follow at noon at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.

Diana was born on June 15, 1948 in Moline, the daughter of Peter and Betty (Griffith) Sels.  She married Daniel Cook in Silvis on June 21, 1968.  She later married Daniel Soots on October 18, 1986 at The Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, IA.  She worked as a Medical Technician for East moline State Hospital and the former Lutheran Hospital.  She later worked as a travel agent for Al Johnson Travel World.  Diana retired from Moline Orthopedic in 2000.  Diana attended Heritage Church in Rock Island.  She enjoyed sewing, crafts, embroidery, making scrapbooks, quilts, and cards.  Diana was also a part of the Card Club with friends.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel Soots; mother, Betty Sels, East Moline; children, Derek (Lisa) Cook, FL, Jennifer (Rick) Sanchez, East Moline, Kelly Becht, Hillsdale, Errica (Bob) Donohoo, Bettendorf; grandchildren, Mina, Summer, Tristian, Morgan, Adam (Kirsten), Aimee, Austin, Alison, Terry, Annabelle, Nathan, Kimber, Kayleigh & Brandon; great grandchildren, Phoenix, Cavan, and Ava; sisters, Debra Sels, Sterling, Carol Sels, Cedar Rapids, Cheryl (Jim) Farmer, Erie.

She was preceded in death by her father and brother, Dana Sels.
