Edward James Kiely II, 73, of Milan, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021, at Unity Point Health Trinity Hospital, Rock Island.

Cremation rites will be accorded.  Private family services will be held prior to the visitation.  Public visitation will be from 4-7p.m. Friday, April 30, 2021, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to K9 Kindness Rescue, Inc.  In accordance with restrictions, attendees are expected to wear a face mask and observe social distancing.

Ed was born on July 20, 1947, in Bettendorf, IA, the son of Edward James and Erma (Hauser) Kiely Sr.  He married Elizabeth Ann Thomas on January 16, 1971, in Memphis, TN.  He graduated from Alleman High School in 1965.  He kept in close touch with classmates and managed class reunions up to the 55th.  He was dedicated to maintaining his friendships both old and new.   People have said Ed never met a stranger.  He graduated from Memphis State University with a degree in Sales and Marketing.  Ed worked as the Vice President of Marketing for Montgomery Elevator Company until he retired.  Whether it was about his love of Ireland or in talking with friends, Ed always had a story to tell.

Survivors include his wife, Liz, cousins, Edward (Nancy) Krenzelok, Ginny (Jerry) Lusk, Paul (Michelle) Krenzelok, Kay (Darwin) Elmquist, Mary Barbara Krenzelok, Andrea (John) Moore; aunt, Priscilla Hauser; goddaughter, Kimberly Mitchell; godson, Jeff Easley; sister-in-law, Dr. Susan (Dawson) Gray, brother-in-law, Dr. Larry (Peggy) Thomas; niece, Jennifer; and nephews, Dawson (Lindsay), and Pierce; beloved dogs, Liffey & Deise.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Richard Kiely.
