Evelyn Brown

Evelyn M. Brown, 84, of Moline, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Rock Island Memorial Park at a later date.  Memorials may be made to Riverside United Methodist Church.

Evelyn was born on September 7, 1934, in Carthage, IL, the daughter of Fred and Lula (Gillenwater) Belknap.  She married Ronald J. Brown on July 7, 1962, in Rock Island.  She began working at Malco Window Company and also at The Towers Restaurant at night.  She later worked at John Deere Harvester in East Moline on the assembly line; then John Deere Industrial in Davenport in janitorial.  She went on to do cleaning at Lovewell Fencing and in different homes in the area.  She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church in Moline where she was involved in the wardrobe ministry. She enjoyed playing euchre at Friends Circle, Moline, gambling on the boats, mushroom hunting, watching her beloved Chicago Cubs and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Evelyn was a kind and loving woman who touched the lives of countless people over the years.

Survivors include husband, Ron; children, Luann (Rick) Schneider, Apache Junction, AZ, Penny Schierling, Moline, Dianna (Jim) Brenny, Moline; grandchildren, Evan (Kaylie) Brown, Moline, Addie Brenny, Cedar Falls, IA, Tia Schierling, Moline, and J.C. Brenny, Moline; great grandchildren, Macie Brown and Madison Brown; sister, Dottie (Howard) Bundy, Rock Island; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Tara Schierling; eleven sisters, and four brothers
