Florence A. Cantrell, 88, formerly of Carbon Cliff, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022, in East Moline.
Cremation rites have been accorded. The memorial service will be at 6 p.m., Thursday June 23, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 4 – 6 p.m., Thursday prior to the services.
Florence was born on May 13, 1934, in Wabasso, Minnesota, the daughter of Joseph and Minnie H. (Mueller) Anton. She married Joseph H. “Hob” Cantrell on December 5, 1953, in East Moline. He preceded her in death on June 29, 2018. Florence was the co-owner and operator of Cantrell’s Body Shop, Garage & Towing in Carbon Cliff. She was a member of the Carbon Cliff Fireman’s Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed card club and going to yard sales.
Survivors include her children, Joseph (Jessica) Cantrell, Daniel (Kristy Eilers) Cantrell, Patti (Mike) VanDeWoestyne, Lonnie (Dawn Crouse) Cantrell, Todd (Lisa) Cantrell; grandchildren, Luke (Abbey) VanDeWoestyne, Joseph (Kristy) Cantrell, Jill (Corey) Hynes, Justin Wilson, Adam (Jamie) Cantrell, Julie VanDeWoestyne, Cassie Cantrell, Travis (Katie) Hauman, Collin Cantrell, Kylie Cantrell, Dylan Cantrell; and 23 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Brady Cantrell; great grandchildren, Connor VanDeWoestyne and Asher Hynes.
