Janet C. McCarver

Janet C. McCarver, 70, of Rock Island, formerly of Dixon, IL, passed away Monday November 6, 2023, at UnityPoint Health Trinity, Rock Island.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday November 11, 2023, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services.  Memorials may be made to the Quad City Botanical Center, Rock Island. 

Janet was born on July 28, 1953, in Moline, the daughter of Thomas and Marie Leihsing, and grew up in the Colona and Green Rock area. Janet married James A. Schrock in Dixon. She later married Donald McCarver in Dixon in 1984. He preceded her in death on August 31, 2022. Janet was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in both Colona and Dixon. Janet was previously employed at the Jack Mabley Developmental Center in Dixon.

Survivors include her son, Jonathon (Melissa) Schrock, Rock Island; daughter, Jessica (Terry) Klinder, Oneida, Tennessee; stepchildren, Jess McCarver and Jen (Mike) Cathey, all of Dixon; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Phebe (Doug) Wiatt, Colona, Bonnie Reynolds, Rock Island, Pam Boone, East Moline, Tania Larsen, Colorado; brothers, Jarod (Janice) Leihsing, Milan, Mark Leihsing, Colona.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Schrock in 2020; husband, Donald; sister, Denise Rudolf; brothers, Kevin and Joel.
