Jean (Cornmesser) Alexander

April 1, 1952 — October 25, 2019

Moline

Jean Cornmesser Alexander, 67, of Moline, Illinois, crossed through the Gates of Heaven on Friday, October 25, 2019 at her residence after a short battle with lung cancer.  She will be lovingly greeted by her parents, Von and Beverly Bailey Cornmesser; her daughter, Lisa Hardesty Simaytis; and her great grandson, Kyle Shea.

Per her wishes cremation rites have been accorded and private burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.  Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory Ltd., Moline is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jean was born in Moline, Illinois and grew up on the Rock River.  She was employed with The Quad City Kidney Center for 20 years as a Dialysis Technician.  This is where she was known by the patients as “Mean Jean from Moline”, a nickname she earned from her “tell it like it is” personality.

Jean had a love for nature.  She enjoyed camping and really loved sitting by a fire.  She was a fan of Elvis and enjoyed most classic rock.  Jean collected frogs, lots and lots of frogs.  She had a great sense of humor that will be truly missed.

Jean is saying “see ya later” and leaving behind a loving family that will forever hold her memory in their hearts; significant other, William Peterson; Sister, June DeMato; Children MSgt Anthony L. Hardesty, USAF (Ret.) (Missi), Samantha Alexander (Brent Malmstrom); 7 grandkids, Mason, Eryn, Sean, Danni, Joey, Tony, and Megan; 8 great grandkids; as well as many other friends and family members.
