Linda Sue Hurd-Bailey, 70, of Perry, Florida died on Friday, January 10 peacefully in her sleep at her home. Per Mrs. Hurd-Bailey’s wishes cremation has taken place.
Linda Sue Walton was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa on September 11, 1949 to Edward Benjamin Walton and Florence Helen Walton.
Mrs. Bailey-Hurd attended United Township High School and Scott Community College in automotive technology for mechanics and worked as a Correctional Officer at the Rock Island County Jail. She also liked wolves and hybrid-wolves/wolfdogs, writing children literature and raising and riding horses.
Survivors include 2 brothers, Edwin Cox (Sandy Cox) and Samuel Walton, her daughter, Lori Hurd, Coal Valley; 2 sons - Scott Hurd (Jennifer Hurd), Rock Island and James Hurd, Jr. (Sherrie Evans-Hurd), St. Augustine, Florida, 7 grandchildren - Brandon Babbitt, Mariah Clement, Olivia Clement, Kai Hurd, Miranda (and Courtney) Hurd, Gabriella (and Austin) Solomon and Alison Hurd and 1 great-grandchild - Mackenzie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers - George Cox and John Cox, and her husband, Gary Bailey.
