Linda (Carlson) Swanson
October 5, 1951 ~ July 29, 2022 (age 70) 70 Years Old
Linda M. (Carlson) Swanson, 70, of Coal Valley, IL, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. She was surrounded by her husband and a few family members.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 5, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.
Linda was bon on October 5, 1951, the daughter of John and Nancy (Rennick) Carlson, in Davenport. She later went to Moline Senior High. Linda had many friends and was well liked. It was in 1968 that she met her future husband, Dennis. They married on June 7, 1969. They had five children together: Angie Swanson (fiancé Rick Raley), Eric Lee Swanson, Brad Swanson (Trish Swanson), Heidi Ballard (fiancé Joe Robinson) and Michelle Carlson. Linda retired as a dietician from ARA Food Services in 1998. She enjoyed playing BINGO, playing cards and computer games. She also loved to travel and spend time with her family.
She has many siblings. She has a brother, Bob (Judy) Carlson, half-sisters, Elise (Dan) Turk, Kari Carlson, Jeri Jones, Shelly Carlson, Ginger Carlson, Gloria (Mark) Bauer, Molly Carlson, half-brother, John Carlson, step-sister, Donna (Carroll) Schultz, step-brothers, Donald (Buzzy), Judy Jones, David (Denise) Jones.
She also leaves behind her amazing grandchildren: eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, one sister, two sons, one granddaughter, her mother-in-law and father-in-law and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
