Matthew Kline was born on March 13, 1976 in Silvis, the son of Michael and Gloria (Monson) Kline.  Matthew married Wenndie Ruma on April 29, 2000 in Bettendorf.  Matt attended Pleasant Valley High School graduating in 1994. He then attended Wyoming Tech graduating with honors from the Collision Refinishing Program.  Matt started painting at Tulleys, and then went into sales later for Spies Hecker which is now Axalta where he has been for 23 years.

Matt had a love for life. He loved getting his hands dirty and teaching his kids everything he knew.  While a true outdoorsman, there was always room to get Wenndie’s inside projects done. Matt loved St. Patrick’s day and sharing corned beef and cabbage with his friends and family. He loved anything with an engine and had the passion to make it run better and last longer.  He was the “Jack of all trades” with a Kline's special always in his hand. Matt was a perfectionist at everything he did. Everything was always black or white, there were no gray areas. While Brandy, his first dog, started him on his hunting journey, he continued the love with his kids through deer, mushroom and shed hunting.  Even though he was always busy, he made sure to be at all the kids’ games supporting them with everything they did. He was so kind he would drop anything for anyone, even giving you the shirt off his back and asking if you need anything else.  A testimony to his character, Matt was a tissue and organ donor.

Survivors include his wife; children; Lauryn, Garrett, Grayce, Nolan, Ace (2nd dog), parents; sister; Kim (Rodney) Smith, in-laws; Sam and Janice Ruma, Kristie (Pat) Keeley, Sherrie (Kevin) Fischer, Jacquie (Ryan) Shemek and numerous aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Jeannine and Albert Kline, Evelyn and Alfred Monson, 8 uncles; 2 aunts; and Brandy (1st dog).
