Ramon "Ray" Sprouse, Jr.

Ramon “Ray” Sprouse Jr., 76, of Silvis, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021, at Aspen Rehabilitation and Heath Care, Silvis.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – Noon, Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Private burial will be at Hampton Township Cemetery.

Ray was born on December 4, 1944, in Eldon, Iowa, the son of Ramon and Loreen (Burton) Sprouse, Sr.  He married Verna L. Miller on August 31, 1968.  He served in the U.S. Army as an instructor at Fort Leonard Wood.  Ray retired from John Deere Harvester after 32 years and was a member of the Union Local 865.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Verna; sons, Brian (Amanda) Sprouse, and Lee Sprouse; grandchildren, Emma and Camden Sprouse; mother, Loreen; brother, Steve (Jan) Sprouse; half-sister and half-brothers, Judy Lile, Joe Sprouse, and Jack Sprouse.

He was preceded in death by his father; and brothers, David, Jim and John Sprouse.
