Robert L. Pauley

Robert L. Pauley, 89, of Silvis, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, February 5, 2021.

Per Robert’s wishes, there will be no services. Memorials may be made to the family. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd, Moline will be assisting the family.

Robert was born on October 3, 1931 in Lucerne, Missouri, the son of Guy and Lena (Pettit) Pauley.  In 1951, he enlisted in the Air Force and served as a military police officer until his honorable discharge in 1955.  He went on to work at the Montgomery Wards in Moline where he retired after 30 years.

Robert loved being surrounded by his family, telling jokes, and making people laugh.  His life revolved around his family and loved family gatherings.  His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly called him Papa.

He is survived by his wife, Sherrie; children, Bobbie (Harry) Stelling, Kim (Crystal) Pauley, Jim (Judy) Pauley, Mark (Jill) Pauley, Dani (Richard) Carter, and Nick (Amanda) Pauley; brother, Skip (Donna) Pauley; nephew, Rex (Carrie) Pauley; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, most of his siblings, and two sons (Kenneth and Lynn).
