Ronald G. VanDePutte

Ronald G. VanDePutte, 84, of Moline, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Centennial Rehab & Healthcare, Moline.

Cremation rites will be accorded.  A private graveside service will be held at Rock Island National Cemetery.  Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 246.  The service will be livestreamed and will be available on Ron’s obituary page at esterdahl.com Friday at 1 p.m.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline is assisting the family.

Ronald was born on January 20, 1937, in Moline, the son of O’Dille M. and Ruth M. (Inglish) VanDePutte.  He married Dorothy Smiddy on December 28, 1962, in Moline.  He was a veteran serving in the United States Navy.  Ron was a photographer for DeSaulniers Printing Company.  Ron enjoyed hunting, farming, and being outdoors.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; children, Pam Arp, Steven (Tammy) VanDePutte, Mike (Kris) VanDePutte; grandchildren, Kassidy Arp, Marc (Brittany) Stohl, Sean (Jaclyn Moore) VanDePutte, Tyler (Mandee Wheeler) VanDePutte, Ryan Sable, Michael (Cassandra) Sable; great grandchildren, Hudson, Marissa, Aiden, Rylee, Lola, Actley, Hyson, Will, Grayson, and Roman; brother, George VanDePutte; brothers & sisters-in-law, Dale & Cleo Smiddy, Dean & Sharon Smiddy, and Dennis & Barb Smiddy.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Hazlewood; and brother, Jim VanDePutte.
