Scott D. Johnson, 47, formerly of Moline, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Graveside services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, October 16, 2020, at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal, with military honors to be conducted.  Anyone wishing to attend should meet at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, at 9:15 for procession to the cemetery.  Face masks will be required.  Memorials may be made to the family in care of Stacey Bunge.

Scott was born on November 1, 1972, the son of James D. and Shirley A. Johnson.  He was a U.S. Veteran, serving in the Air Force, where he received the Air Force Training Ribbon, the National Defense Service Metal, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, and the Good Conduct Medal.  Scott loved his family both here in Illinois and the one he created in Corpus Christi Texas.  Scott loved the Halloween holiday.  He would dress up as the headless horseman and scare everyone big and small.  He then would take pictures with them.

Survivors include his mother, Shirley A. Johnson of Moline; sister, Stacey Bunge of Moline; nephews, Brandon Colley of Moline and Tayler Welch of Moline; great aunts Betty Hearn of Silvis, and Jean Crump of Bettendorf, and great aunt and uncle, Ruth and Paul Trammell of Yukon, OK; and many, many cousins.

Extended family; Sherry, Don, Donnie, Kevin, Kenny, Karis, and Cassie Martin, and Deonte Hurte and family of Corpus Christi Texas.

He was preceded in death by his father, James D. Johnson of Moline; grandparents, Roy and Opal Crump of Moline; and great uncles Robert Hearn, and Bill Crump.
