Terri E Nelson

Terri Edwin Nelson, 62, of Carlisle, IA, formerly of Orion, passed away, Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center, Des Moines, IA.

A private funeral service will be held.  Public visitation will be 4-7pm, Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Everyone wear Cubs for the visitation.  Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family to be decided later.  In accordance with restrictions, attendees are expected to wear a face mask and observe social distancing.

Terri was born on October 20, 1958 in Moline, the son of Vernita E. Larson, and Pops Maynard L. Larson, and David E. Nelson.  He married Lynda E. Kroll on March 18, 1978, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline.  Terri graduated from Orion High School in 1976.  Terri worked as Chief Engineer for Des Moines Public Schools retiring in 2015.  He was active from 1977-1982 in the United States Air Force as a Technical Sergeant and then retired from Air Force National Guard.  He also served in the Naval National Guard.  The most important people in his life were his beautiful bride, his children, grandchildren and the Chicago Cubs.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, pops, and dad, father-in-law, Ralph Kroll.
