Verna Resetich

Verna May Resetich, 96, formerly of Moline, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.

Private family services will be held. Burial will be at Western Township Cemetery. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Orion is assisting the family.

Verna was born on March 23, 1926, in Silvis, the daughter of Carl and Olive (Stirk) Kleiberg. She married Harold C. Woolley on July 22, 1944, in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on December 22, 1993. She later married Louis Resetich. He preceded her on July 10, 2016. Verna was previously employed as a janitor at the Orion Middle School.

Survivors include her son, Benjamin R. (Karen) Woolley, Orion; 5 grandchildren, Shawn (Angie) DeYoung, Sandy (Tim) Novotny, Saul DeYoung, Chad Woolley, and Dustin Woolley; 9 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brother, Clarence Ryker; and sister, Jacqueline (Kermit) Pfaff.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Harold and Louis; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Gary DeYoung; and one granddaughter, Samantha DeYoung; and sisters, Betty Smith and Marylou Stubbart.

The family would also like to express their gratitude to the staff – both past and present - at Hope Creek, who cared for Verna over the past 12 years.
